A township inside Iskandar Puteri
Medini is a master-planned township in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. It is a part of Iskandar Puteri, not another name for it, and it is not the same thing as Nusajaya, Puteri Harbour, Gelang Patah or Bukit Indah. IIB's current property-development page states that Medini spans more than 2,230 acres.
This page collects what can be checked about the area, with the source and the date for each item. Anything that could not be verified is marked as such rather than filled in.

Who owns Medini
Medini does not have one simple owner. Individual parcels are held or developed by different entities, and the answer differs depending on which layer of the question you mean.
- Developer, as stated today
- IIB's current Medini page describes Medini as developed by IIB; that page does not mention MIM.iskandarinvestment.com, Medini page, checked August 2026
- Master developer, as published in July 2020
- An archived page from Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MIM) identified MIM as the master developer, and recorded its shareholders at that time as Jasmine Acres Sdn Bhd 60%, United World Infrastructure 20% and Mitsui & Co 20%. The same page stated that Jasmine Acres was jointly owned by Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Iskandar Investment Berhad.medini.com.my shareholders page, archived 4 July 2020
- Present ownership structure
- Among the current IIB and IRDA material and the archived MIM pages reviewed for this page, no source confirming MIM's present ownership structure was found. MIM's own website no longer serves its former content; its URLs redirect to Iskandar Investment Berhad.Checked August 2026
- Planning and coordination
- The Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) is a federal statutory body established under the IRDA Act 2007 (Act 664). It describes itself as the main coordinating agency for planning, facilitating and positioning the development of Iskandar Malaysia. Coordinating and planning an area is not the same as owning it.irda.com.my, About IRDA, checked August 2026
Distances by road
Measured from one fixed point, the Mall of Medini at 4 Lebuh Medini Utara, 79200 Iskandar Puteri, Johor, so that every figure below is comparable and anyone can repeat the measurement. Medini is a township rather than a single address, so a distance quoted without a starting point does not mean much.
- About 16 km
- Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ, Malaysian side of the Second Link
- via the Second Link Expressway (E3)
- About 21 km
- Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, the Johor Bahru CIQ
- via Route 52
- About 30 km
- Senai International Airport
- via the E3; tolls apply
Road distances measured from Mall of Medini using Google Maps on 10 August 2026. Distances are approximate and vary by route. Border distances end at the Malaysian CIQ and do not include immigration processing or border queues. Driving times are not published here, because the times available were recorded overnight and would not describe an ordinary journey.
Places in Medini
Listed here only if the place's own official material gives its address, shows it operating, and puts it in Medini. Road names are not evidence on their own: there are roads named after Medini that run outside it.

The zone plan, as published in 2020
Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd used to publish a master plan dividing the township into lettered zones. That website no longer serves its former content, and its URLs redirect to Iskandar Investment Berhad. What follows is read from an archived copy of the master plan captured 23 August 2020, and it describes how the plan looked then. It is not a verified current boundary.
- Zone A
- Mall of Medini, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort, Gleneagles Medini and a group of residential developments
- Zone B
- Medini 6, Medini 7, Medini 9, Medini 10 and other commercial plots
- Zone C
- CI Medini
- Zone E
- Avira
- Zone F
- Sunway Iskandar
The archived plan showed Sunway Iskandar as Zone F. It does not establish that every present-day Sunway City Iskandar Puteri property or facility lies within Medini. Individual developments named in the archived plan may since have been renamed, delayed or not built, so none of them is repeated here as a current fact.
Where the name comes from
No explanation of the name's origin was found in the current Iskandar Investment Berhad and IRDA materials, or in the archived Medini Iskandar Malaysia pages reviewed for this guide.
